Item:173716666206**Thanks to a timewaster who can't read a map, my van is back up for sale** This is my 2003 Ford Transit Tipper with the 2.4 Duratorq engine. I bought this van a few months ago with the idea of removing the tipper body and fitting a transporter body to carry my offroader around. Since buying it I've been told by several people that there's no way I'd be able to do that and stay under 3.5 tonne with the truck on the back with tools, spares, 4 of us etc. For this reason it's now up for sale. I'm not after a silly amount of money for this thing, just looking at covering my investment so grab yourself a cheap workhorse. The van has covered below average mileage for a transit and it sits on just over 155k. Looking at some of the others there should be plenty of life in the old girl yet. The engine starts smack and seems to run fine. On occasion the starter will spin but not engage. When it does engage the truck starts very well hot or cold. The chassis is still in good condition with no repairs on it, it could do with some more paint in a few places but it looks a solid base. The tipper works well as shown in the photos. It still has the manufacturers plate on it - Brit-tipp in Warrington - looks like they're still going strong like their tipper body. It could do with some repairs in places but operationally it's flawless. Lifts and drops from a small switch in the cab. The cab is in similar condition. It has had some previous repairs and is showing bits of rust on most panels. There's also a couple of dents around the front where the previous owner (a tree surgeon) dropped a tree on it. Doesn't affect it's use, but obviously doesn't look very good. This tree was also the reason I've fitted a polycarbonate window to the rear drivers door (pictures are with the previously fitted bit of wood). There's some bits of what I think is concrete also stuck to this door - wouldn't come off with a sponge. Inside the truck is complete and functional, but it is quite tatty. The bolster is damaged on the drivers seat but the cushion seems firm enough. I think everything works except the beacon on the roof - which might work but I don't know how to turn it on. There is also an SRS light flashing. I've scanned it and the code is for the passenger airbag - which there isn't one fitted as standard anyway? I've not had chance to tackle this yet. It's got MOT until July next year. All in all it's by no means a show van - I think it actually looks better on the photos than in person so please bear that in mind. I do have some more pictures available on request. Any questions please don't hesitate to ask. Good luck and happy bidding!Condition:Used, Condition:Please read full description., Manufacturer:Ford, Model:Transit, Model Year:2003, Engine size:2400, Vehicle Type:Tipper, Number of Seats:6 Seats, Body Type:Chassis Cab, Cab Type:Crew Cab, Transmission:Manual, Gross Vehicle Weight:3500, Primary fuel Type:Diesel, Fuel Type:Diesel, Wheelbase Type:LWB, Year of First Registration:2003, Interior/Comfort Options:Power-assisted Steering (PAS), Safety Features:Disc Brakes, Colour:White, Drive Side:Right-hand drive, Number of Axles:2, Modified Item:No, Axles:2, Mileage:155000, MOT Expiry Date (MM/YYYY):20190700, Features:Crew cab, In-Car Entertainment Options:AM/FM Stereo, Loading Space Width (Feet):6, Additional Information:Green Slip Only
